Ivan sacrificed his studies, a well-paying job, and bad habits for the stage.
Robot Kostya, Ivan’s play based on Anton Chekhov’s Seagull, was nominated for the national theater award Golden Mask. It became a manifesto, a provocative statement.
Not many believed that stage plays starring robots could inspire empathy, but despite the lack of funding and support and multiple expulsions from drama schools, Ivan is intent on bringing his ideas to life.
Ivan has demonstrated that even lifeless mechanisms are talented actors who can suffer and feel.
