"A result is only reliable when it has been reproduced three times and more"
An associate professor of ITMO’s Infochemistry Scientific Center
Anton Muravev
Programs cancer cells to self-destruct.
Cooks complex dishes — at home and in the lab.
In the lab, Anton "cooks up" substances that selectively kill cancer cells while avoiding healthy ones.
As a child, he dreamed of becoming a hockey player like his grandfather, but in seventh grade he took to chemistry and physics for their interesting and diverse experiments. He studied many of his school subjects in English and Turkish.
He prefers to test his results multiple times before announcing his discoveries or adding a new recipe to his cookbook.
And in his kitchen, he makes borscht, mimosas, and other unusual cocktails.
He is inspired by his family and students.
His goal for 2024 is to prepare at least 10 articles for high-ranking international journals with his PhD students.
